MWSUG 2010 Conference Transportation
By Air
General Mitchell International Airport (airport code: MKE) is located approximately 10 miles south of the conference hotel, the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. Most major airlines provide service to and from Milwaukee. For a list of cities served non-stop, please visit the airport’s website.
Ground Transportation: a variety of ground transportation options are available to travel between the airport and the Hilton Milwaukee City Center, including the Go Airport Connection shuttle (1-800-236-5450, www.mkelimo.com), taxi service, and the Milwaukee County Transit System’s local bus service.
By Train
The Milwaukee Intermodal Station, renovated in 2007, is a train and bus station located 2.5 blocks south of the Hilton Milwaukee City Center hotel. It is served by Amtrak and several motorcoach operators, including Greyhound Lines and Coach USA.
Amtrak’s Hiawatha Service connects Milwaukee to Chicago and makes seven roundtrips a day (six on Sundays). For more information or to book tickets online, please visit Amtrak’s Hiawatha website.
Driving Directions

From the West (Madison, Minneapolis): Follow I-94 East to I-794 East (Exit 310C on the left). Take Exit 1H for St. Paul Ave/James Lovell Street. Get in the left lane to follow J. Lovell St. Continue straight to cross Clybourn Street and Michigan Street. Turn right on Wisconsin Avenue. Turn right on 5th Street. The parking ramp will be on your right.
From the South (Chicago, Indianapolis): Follow I-94 West/I-43 North to I-794 East (Exit 310C). Take Exit 1D for Plankinton Avenue. At the end of the ramp, you will be forced to turn left onto Plankinton Avenue. Continue straight on Plankinton Avenue to cross Clybourn Street. Get in the left lane to turn left on Michigan Avenue. Turn right on 5th Street. The parking ramp will be on your left.
From the North (Green Bay): Follow I-43 South. Take Exit 72E for Highland Avenue and 11th Street. At the end of the ramp, continue straight on 11st Street to cross Highland Avenue, State Street, and Wells Street. After crossing Wells Street, get in the left lane. Turn left on Wisconsin Avenue. Turn right on 5th Street. The parking ramp will be on your right.
Parking
The entrance to the parking structure for the Hilton Milwaukee City Center is located on the west side of 5th Street between Michigan Street and Wisconsin Avenue. Parking for all conference attendees is $10 per day. Parking fees are paid upon leaving the parking structure. IMPORTANT: in order to receive the discounted rate of $10 per day, you will need to give the parking attendant an MWSUG parking coupon upon leaving the parking structure. You can obtain parking coupons from the registration desk. Please see the conference schedule for registration desk hours.
